In an art industry that increasingly advocates following the lines established by cultural policies, it is always comforting to return to thesis themes, to environments that draw from social and historiographic sources, of course, but also from myths and a well-understood anthropology. You can go deeper in subtitles and lines or you can put together a skeleton, but the overview can also be a reward these days.

GABRIEL PÉREZ-BARREIRO: THE MUN'S NEW ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
After six years of his collaboration as a teacher in the Master's Degree in Curatorial Studies offered by the Museo Universidad de Navarra (MUN), Gabriel Pérez-Barreriro has been appointed as the institution's new artistic director. With extensive experience in university museums and other centers in Europe, the United States and Latin America, he is now the new head of the MUN's artistic strategy together with Teresa Lasheras, artistic director of performing arts and music.
OPEN CALL FOR APEXART’S GROUP EXHIBITION AT NYC
apexart is soliciting idea-based group exhibition proposals for its NYC open call October 1–31, 2024. Five winning proposals will receive up to a 10,000 USD exhibition budget and become apexart exhibitions at the NYC space as part of the 2025–26 exhibition season. Curators, artists, writers, and creative individuals, regardless of experience level or location, are invited to submit a proposal online.

THE WIND OF HISTORY. THE FRAGILITY OF THE ANCESTRAL TIME
History forms an invisible rhythm, resounding in the background of visual stories. Listen carefully and the past will also reveal its intrinsic connection with the future. “Which of these two constructs is the driving force, and which sets the tone of the current moment?” asks "The Fragility of the Ancestral Time," a group exhibition first shown at Casa Velazquez in Santo Domingo and now on view at the Avèle gallery in Cap Cana. Bordering on philosophical treatises, the exhibition provides great aesthetic pleasures.
INTERVIEW WITH TANIA PARDO, NEW DIRECTOR OF CA2M MUSEUM
Tania Pardo (Madrid, Spain, 1976) is the new Director of the Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (CA2M Museum), the museum of contemporary art of the Community of Madrid. Pardo's career until her recent appointment has been built on a detailed work of promotion and visibility of emerging art through the curatorial actions she has developed in numerous Spanish institutions.

ARGENTINE GALLERIES AWARDED AT ARCOmadrid
ARCOmadrid is being held until Sunday, March 10, and presented its Lexus Award for Best Stand to the Argentinean gallery W-Gallery. In addition, the galleries Remota and Piedras won the X Opening Award, which recognizes the best stand in that section.

PINTA Sud ASU 2023 – A DIALOGUE WITH AIMÉ IGLESIAS LUKIN
Aimé Iglesias Lukin is an art historian and curator. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, she has been living in New York since 2011. She earned her PhD in art history from Rutgers University with a dissertation titled "This Must Be the Place: Latin American Artists in New York 1965–1975," which became an exhibition at Americas Society in 2021. Her writings have been featured at international conferences and published by prestigious museums and academic journals, including the New Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Guggenheim Museum.
